One Of The Most Tragic Days Of My Life

Well well well. Today was NOT a good day. I woke up super tired, I only slept for like 5hrs (as usual).

I thought that I could have a nice, relaxing day. But oh my God what a tragedy...

I was on my way home from school, waiting for the bus. I was on my phone, and then decided to place it on the bench. I brushed my hair and then realized that the bus was already turning there.

I quickly stood up and put my hairbrush in my bag. I then went on the bus and just calmly sat there, enjoying the view. I went on for like ten minutes, and then started looking for my phone. And well, I couldn't find it anywhere.. I immediately realized what had happened. I can't even describe how freaking awful it felt.

I mean, it wouldn't be such a big deal if it was a cheap phone - people usually don't care if they see a cheap phone left somewhere. But it was an iPhone 6. And that's what people don't even hesitate to steal.

I left the bus as soon as I could and went back to where I came from. And yeah, the phone wasn't there anymore. I asked a total stranger if I could call my phone. He was in a hurry but kind enough to help. I called, but my phone had been turned off..

I then took a bus to home. My laptop was gonna be my savior - I could Skype call my friend and ask if there had been sent any messages from my phone etc. Well, there hadn't.

My dad was at work so I couldn't ask him for help. I then went to my neighbor's door and told them what had happened. He was super kind (plus his kid is adorable) and lent me his phone. I first called my phone again but it was still turned off.

I then called my dad, and thank god he wasn't mad.. He was so much more calm than I was.

And well, the day ended up being very hectic and stressful. We had to go and get a new sim-card, and now I have to use my old phone. And I can't even describe how much I hate it. It lags, it doesn't work properly and basically doesn't fulfill my needs. I want to use social media and interact with my friends. And this phone makes it super hard.

My only chance is that someone nice has given it to a bus driver. That's when I can get it back. Or if someone has taken it to the lost property office.

Now, I'm just gonna have to wait. Wait, wait and wait.

If I don't get it back, there goes all the pictures and videos, all the memories. And 700€. And my little baby. It meant a lot to me. I got it as a christmas present. And I cried like a baby when I got it. Yes, I was so happy. I had struggled with my last phone so much. It basically just made me more aggressive, and I didn't like to use it. I had never had an iPhone before.

So yeah. Take care of your phone. Download an app that will help you find it if you lose it. Yeah, I know that you don't want to waste your phone's memory on that.

"I know that I won't lose it. I'll always take care of my phone!"

That's what I've always told myself too. But it was a total accident.

I had thought about downloading the 'Find my iPhone' app. But always ended up deciding that I won't need it. And GOD HOW I NEED IT NOW. But it's too late. <3

Don't underestimate the app's importance. Seriously. If I ever get my phone back, the first thing that I'll do is download the app.

My tips:

1. Sleep well

Seriously, I always sleep so little that my brain really can't function well enough.

And that's why I always forget everything.

And that's why I now forgot my phone.

2. Take care of your belongings

If you place your phone or keys or whatever somewhere for a moment, think of it. Think of it until you take it back. If I would've thought about placing my phone there while brushing my hair, I would've remembered it. But I completely forgot, since I didn't think about it.

3. DOWNLOAD THE APP!

You don't know when the day will come when you lose your phone. I've always told myself that I would NEVER lose my phone. It's such an important device for me that I'd NEVER leave it anywhere. And I did.

We all make mistakes sometimes and we can't be sure when the next one will come. So please, if you care about your phone, download it. If I had the app, I'd know where my phone is atm. There could be a message on the phone's screen saying that "this phone is missing, please call this number ... ."

Yeah. Not a good day for me.
